JOHN RAY

He was born January 19, 1929, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late John G. and Lillie M. Porter Ray.

John was 1947 graduate of Bridgeport High School and a graduate of Ohio University, a retired engineer from AEP former Kammer-Mitchell Plant, and was a 30 year substitute teacher for many area schools, a member of the Bellaire Presbyterian Church, a 1947 graduate of Bridgeport High School, a 65 year member of Ionic Lodge #438 F&AM Bellaire and an Air Force Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son-in-law, Bernard Walker; and sister-in-laws, Marla Ray and Margaret Ray.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Beverly Snider Ray; two sons, Gary (Sarah) Ray of Charlottesville, VA, and Gregory (Bonnie) Ray of St. Clairsville, OH; daughter, Shauna Walker and her fiance Robert Wallace of Bellaire, OH; two brothers, William Ray of Phoenix,AZ, and Robert Ray of St. Clairsville, OH; a sister, Janie (Robert) Thomas of Bridgeport, OH; two granddaughters, Courtney (Charles) Clark, Ashley Walker; four grandsons, Jarrett (Marie) Ray, Justin (Sarah) Ray, Corey (Elizabeth) Ray, and Andrew Ray; four great-grandchildren, Codin Walker, Benjamin Ray, Emma Ray and Julia Ray

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, 441 37th St., Bellaire, OH, 43906, on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, with Reverend Marcia Allen officiating.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Bellaire, OH.

Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m., Tuesday.
