FRED KIDD

Frederick Alan “Fred” Kidd, 71, of Flushing, Ohio, died February 22, 2021 at his home.

He was born May 25, 1949 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a son of the late James W. and Pauline Rice Kidd.

Fred was a retired State Mine Inspector and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Panama during the Vietnam War. He was a 1967 Flushing High School graduate, a member of the Flushing American Legion Post 366 and a member of the Fairpoint Polish Club. Fred enjoyed talking sports with Kevin, he was an avid golfer and gardener, and he loved the Union Local Jets and taking daily walks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Kidd.

Surviving are his loving wife, Sandra Kolodziej Kidd; his son Kevin Kidd; brothers, Michael (Nancy) Kidd and Bill Humphrey; a sister, Sue Mounts; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Henry and Darlene Kolodziej; his ex-wife, Kathleen Mahoney; a special friend, Helen Mazol; furry friends, Allie and Chloe; and nieces and nephews.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, A private Funeral Liturgy with Mass was celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Cadiz, Ohio with Father Fred Kihm the celebrant. Full Military Honors were conducted by the Flushing American Legion. Arrangements were entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville.
