NICK STABILE

Nick Alex Stabile 95 passed away to a better place on Monday April 5, 2021, after a short stay at Liza’s Place Valley Hospice facility in Wheeling.

Nick a first generation Italian-American was born on May 28, 1925 to the late Patsy and Anna (Qualyano) the youngest of the family on the original homestead on Warren Ridge. Nick was preceded in death by his infant son Anthony, siblings five brothers Patsy, John, Mike, Carl, Ralph and two sisters Lena Barbarossa and Mary Deluca Dolfi. Nick resided at 190 Adams Lane, Rayland Ohio at the house he built 60 years ago along with his beloved wife Marian Rose Stabile (Mastrantonio) whom he married on July 12, 1953.

Marian survives along with sons Bruce and Brenda (Ferguson), Tony and Judy (McCutcheon), Surviving Grand Children: Courtland, Cassidi, Alex, Calvin, Erich and Caitlyn (Amberg), with Great Grand Child Emmy.

Nick’s work experience began as a farmer on the homestead where his love for horses began. He then worked as a mule tender in the coal mines, railroad and finally employment at what’s now known as Wheeling Pittsburg Steel plant in Yorkville Ohio for 42 years before retiring as a roller. Over the years Nick raised over 20 show horses and was actively involved with 4-H. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, loved his garden and making his own Italian wine.

Nick enjoyed telling the stories of old; growing up, draft horses, working in the mill, fishing and visiting with friends. He was a member of the Tiltonsville Saint Joseph Catholic Parish and Knights of Columbus. He loved his church, community, family and loving wife Marian (Grandma) who always had a cup of coffee, glass of wine and breakfast waiting.

Friends will be received to pay tribute to Nick and celebrate his life on Friday April 9 th , from 4-8, at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH with a vigil service at 5 pm, with Father William Cross.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be Saturday 1 pm, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiltonsville, with Father William Cross officiating.

Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.

Mask and social distancing are required at the funeral home and church.
