JAMES FOWLER

James T. “Jim” Fowler, Sr., 76, of Satsuma, FL passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at UF Shands Gainesville, FL following an extended illness.

Jim was born in Martins Ferry and had lived in Satsuma for the past 21 years coming from Macon, GA. He served honorably in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He had worked as a Southeastern Sales Executive for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a life member of the VFW, a member of the Lake Lodge #72, Free & Accepted Masons, Lake Como, FL, a member and former President of the Bass Capital Bass Masters and the Florida Bass Federation, a member of the Senior Bass Club of Jacksonville, FL. In addition, he founded the VFW #1275 Jr. Boys and Sons of Veterans Drill Team in Lima, OH, Jim also started the Jr. Bass Capital Bassmasters Club. He was Presbyterian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary (Antonacci) Fowler; a sister, Mary Wiltshire; a brother, John Fowler; and a son, Herbert Lane, Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Carol Fowler; two sons, James Fowler, Jr. and Mark Cotrell; two daughters, Tracey Ward (Todd), and Kimberly Simmons (Rodney); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
