SUSAN SLATER

Susan was born on November 14th, 1946 to Charles and Jane Parker in Martins Ferry, OH.

She graduated from St. Clairsville High School in 1964.

Susan’s life’s work was caring for children. She ran a daycare in her home for 8 years in St. Clairsville, OH and for 6 years in Fredericksburg, VA, until she retired to care for her mother in 1996. She loved every child and family that she cared for as her own.

Susan will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Gary; three children, Eric (Melissa) Slater, Julie (Robert) Webb and Jessica (Nicholas) Suits; her sister, Marjorie (Philip) Kress of St. Clairsville, OH; eight grandchildren, Natalie, Seth, Jacob, Finn, Mackayla, Lena, Marlo and Soren; two great-grandchildren Greyson and Jack; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Tom.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at East Richland Evangelical Friends Church in St. Clairsville, OH on August 21st, 2021. Visitation at 1:00 pm, service at 2:00 pm with reception to follow at the church. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
