PHILIP PLUMBY

Philip Plumby, 95, formerly of Yorkville, Ohio passed away at Belmont Manor, Sunday, August 1, 2021. He was born December 11, 1925, in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He was the son of the Late Phil Plumby and Rose (Sabatino) Plumby.

He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Yorkville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose (Prati) Plumby, brothers Donald Plumby and sister Doris Miklik.

Philip is survived by sons, David Plumby of Martins Ferry, Glenn (Natalie) Plumby, Beaver Creek, Ohio. Grandchildren, Rob (Kristin) Plumby, Dr. Mark Plumby, Lisa (Andrew) Katerakis, Michelle (Tate) Nelson, Trever Plumby. Great grandchildren, Alexa, Cianna, Mark, Jr. Plumby.

Philip was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Martins Ferry, US Army veteran of WWII, member of the musician’s union, one of the founders of the Vince Villlanoua Big Band, Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph, Yorkville VFW, and American Legion-VFW.

Friend will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut Street, Martins Ferry on Friday, August 6, 2021, from 4-8pm, Mass of Christian will be on Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Martins Ferry, at 10:00am Fr. Thomas Marut as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ferry View Rd.
