LEWIS KURUCZ

Lewis Kurucz, born August 9, 1928, in Moundsville, WV, to the late Joe and Rose Kurucz, and lifelong resident of Rayland, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 14, 2022, at the age of 93.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe Bob and Bill Kurucz, and sister, Rose Marie (Kurucz) Lucas.

He is survived by his loving wife, Regina (Cozze) Kurucz and brother, Kenneth Kurucz, children, Louis Gene (Patty) Kurucz, Joyce (Gary) Kourim, Kathie (Gary) Glover, Vince Kurucz and Laina Kurucz, grandchildren, Brian Kurucz, LaRae (Mike) Gonzaoles, Jason(Yvonne) Kourim, Kelly (Jason) Harrison, Travis (Gerilyn) Glover, Gregory (Karrie) Glover, Aaron (Korena) Glover, Bradley (Stephanie) Glover, Dominic Spohn, Moneer Spohn, Damien Horvat, Brady Horvat, Ciera Horvat, Ciera Horvat and 34 great-grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Lewis was a 1946 graduate of Warren Consolidated High School, was honorably discharged in 1948 after proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy, a 47-year member of the American Legion Post 529 and retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in 1990 after 37 years. He loved above all things, his wife of 75 years, his family, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family in the field, hunting and fishing, or on the back deck visiting. He also enjoyed watching, Rebels and Panthers on Friday nights, The Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturdays, and the Steelers on Sundays.

Friends will be received Tuesday, January 18, from 4-7 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home in Tiltonsville, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Holy Catholic Church, 204 Mound St., Tiltonsville, with Father William Cross officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
