WILLIAM CHRISTOPHER

Age 93, recently of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed on Friday, November 21, 2025, in Pittsburgh, PA. Bill was the beloved husband for 51 years of Margaret (Maxwell) ‘Peggy’ Christopher. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Maxwell Christopher, a daughter, Karen Wellman, a sister, Evelyn Davis, and two generations of nieces and nephews.

Bill was born on October 9, 1932, in his parents’ home in the small town of Caldwell, Ohio, the fifth of seven children of John and Bessie Christopher. In recognition of his accomplishments in athletics as a youth, he was made a member of the local sports hall of fame. Bill graduated from Caldwell High School, and Marietta College. He worked his way through college in part doing road and highway construction.

His career then consisted of sales and sales management positions in the heavy equipment industry. Bill retired from employment from the W.W. Williams Company of Columbus, Ohio. He was the beloved “Uncle Bill” to many, especially his niece and nephew and four great-nieces in Pittsburgh. He was also an active long-time Rotarian, Mason, Shriner, and Presbyterian, finally as a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon.

Visitation, service, and interment in Mount Lebanon Cemetery were private.
