Jewett Fire Department holding dinner

THE JEWETT Fire Department will host its annual monthly dinner tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu will include pork chops, vegetable, salad, bread, dessert and beverages. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.

THE FRIENDS of the Clark Memorial Branch Library will meet on Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. at the library in Freeport. New members are always welcome.

KIDS WILL be dancing the night away on Jan. 15 at the Jewett Wildcat Community Center.

Students in grades six through eighth are welcome to attend the dance which will feature music provided by a dee jay. Chaperones will be provided throughout the evening.

The center, located at the former Jewett School, is also available for future dances, occasions to celebrate and hold exercise classes, craft classes, dinners and so forth. Call Tammy Dray for more information at 740-946-7941.

THE SCIO American Legion will present the country band Redneck Incorporated on Jan. 15 from 9 p.m. – 1 a.m. A cover charge of $5 per person will be accepted at the door.

Organizers welcome you to come listen to great country music from today and yesterday.

THE 6TH annual Wild Game dinner will be held Jan. 28 at the Flushing Fire Hall.

The event will feature Outdoorsmen for Christ speaker Jason Huntsman, a professional hunter, author and cameramen as seen on the Outdoors Channel and Damon Detling Hollow Rock Archery.

The dinner will be held at Flushing Fire Hall and begins at 6 p.m.

The Wild Game Dinner is sponsored by Honor Bound the men’s ministry of Flushing Alliance Church. The suggested donation is $10 and tickets can be obtained by calling 740-968-3911 or can be obtained at the door. Many door prizes from local merchants will be drawn and the grand prizes include guided hunting trips worth $200.

All proceeds will be used to fund a second missions trip to Burkina Faso, West Africa.

A FREE Tax Clinic will be held Feb. 19 at the Puskarich Public Library, 200 E. Market St., Cadiz.

Scheduled to run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., the service is being offered to household making less than $54,000 per year. No appointments are necessary.

Your completed tax forms are E-filed for free and refunds can be direct deposited in order to obtain reimbursement promptly, so bring along your bank information to ease the process. In addition, those attending the clinic should bring all in come information, deduction and credit information, Social Security numbers and birth dates of all household members.

Through the Benefit Bank, tax credits each person can claim, including the Earned INsome Credit and the Child Tax Credit, will be determined.

The clinic cannot do farm income, income from rental properties or Business Schedule C returns.
