Miracle League

THE MIRACLE League of the Ohio Valley is every bit that — a miracle.

It was years in the making and came to fruition through the passion, determination and generosity of countless individuals.

As a result, many special needs children now get to play ball. If not for such an outpouring of support, they would be relegated to being spectators.

The Miracle League was on the receiving end of another generous gift last week.

It came in the form of a $10,000 donation from Wheeling Subaru. The monetary boost was delivered in conjunction with the opening of a new season.

An undertaking of this magnitude is a costly one. League officials said the money will be used for upkeep of the field, as well as making possible some desperately needed additions — such as new bleachers.

The field was built on donations from the numerous sponsors whose signs overlook the field on the property that the city of Wheeling donated to the organization. Those sponsorships helped to make the field and league become a reality.

Shirts ‘n More donates the shirts. That also is a major money-saver.

The latest donation by Wheeling Subaru once again reinforces the belief that the Ohio Valley will support a worthwhile cause.

The Miracle League is truly a remarkable achievement made possible by remarkable people.
