Food Pantry

Dear?Editor

This is a letter to all of you that care about your neighbors and would like to help them but do not know how.

If you are looking for some place to assist local residents in your area, may I suggest your local food pantry. When I read the article from The Adena Methodist Church Food Pantry I contacted Nancy Walker and Pastor Chuck Mehl so we could coordinate our efforts. The Adena Food Pantry serves the residents of Adena and Harrisville on the second and and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 9 a.m. to noon at Methodist Church.

Smithfield and Piney Fork residents are assisted monthly at The Smithfield Friends Church Food Pantry.

Dillonvale Food Pantry serves the residents of Dillonvale, Mt. Pleasant, and Piney Fork at The Dillonvale Presbyterian Church Study, 52 Liberty St, the third Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. to l p.m. St. Adalbert Church has been having a collection for Dillonvale Food Pantry the second Sunday of each month for the past year and I am happy to report that the Dillonvale Methodist and Presbyterian churches recently agreed to join us in this endeavor to feed those in need.

When funds are available Dillonvale also assists with utilities. Proof of residence, income, and photo ID are required. We follow Federal Poverty Guidelines and inquiries may be made to Mary Ulczynski, Secretary/Treasurer at 769-7773.

Christmas Baskets will be distributed Tuesday, Dec. 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you need assistance before that time or if you have any questions please call 769-7773 or 769-2202.
