Election results part of God’s will

Dear Editor,

Forgive us, Father, for we know not what we do. We have allowed ourselves to draw away from You, focusing upon other vain and worldly preoccupations. The nation You’ve given us — America — has backslidden from the God-honoring ways of our founding fathers; and we have pampered and promoted, in the name of tolerance and political correctness, the wicked and perverse ways of those who laugh in Your face. Have mercy on us, O Lord; for the time of Your coming seems to be so very near, and we would not fall beneath Your righteous wrath. Have mercy on us.

Yes, there must be a time of humbling and a return to the Lord God who has given us life and a beautiful country that we call our earthly home. There must be a time of coming to obey His authority and the authority of those who are in charge of our nation; for He has ordained them to lead us at this present time.

I believe that this recent election has nothing to do with party politics; but, God Himself has chosen those men whom He will use to draw America back to Himself. God alone can save and bless America and make it great again; that greatness being all from His provision, not our own.

It is my prayer that God will continue to mold and make Donald Trump and Mike Pence into His vessels of honor for leading America back to Him. And, it is my heart’s desire that America will become a wholly loving and praying nation, humble before and obedient to our God.

If we are indeed Christians (this nation was founded as a Christian nation, under God), we must be patient with our president. We must support him and pray for him and his family; for his success will be our success as a nation. We must remember that God has not yet finished molding any of us into that which He would have us be for His glory.

So, in the midst of this presently antagonistic and malicious society, I say, “Praise the LORD! God is my God, and Donald Trump is my president.”

Ever hoping … always in Jesus,

Maryann Droll
