A final thank-you

Dear Editor,

The last chapter is in the history books.

“The Final Cruise” was held July 22, 2017, at the former Quality Motor Cars by Butch Miller. We awoke to a very dreary Saturday morning anticipating a low turnout. Registration was at an all-time low, but spirits would not be dampened.

John and Brittany Ayers had a continuous line at their smoker with customers anxiously awaiting the chicken, pork and brisket dinners they were preparing. Crowds were dodging raindrops as they made their way around the classics that were lined up for their inspection.

All F.O.P.A. “Thin Blue Line” members were decked out in their attire, so to be noticed, as this was their fundraiser.

Special awards were presented on behalf of our friends Brent Walton and Delno “Junior” Thayer. Both sadly passed away earlier this year. Mayor Robert Krajnyak was in attendance to present the Mayor’s Trophy.

Burnouts were canceled due to the weather. We would not risk your safety for a few moments of pleasure. Everyone understood!

We would like to thank the following contributors: Auto Zone, Advance Auto Parts, Modern Auto Parts and Mattern Tire both of Cadiz, Colemans, Jacob & Sons, K&K Kleaning, Staffilino Chevrolet, American Graphic & Apparel, Wilson Funeral Homes, Keller Funeral Home, Total Sports Connection, Sweet Dreams, Ferry Hardware, City Advertisers, Mama C’s Bakery, Hot Rod Tatooing, M.C. Thomas Insurance, Mike Schuetz State Farm, Hanover Fuel Stop, Sun Shop Exxon, The Citizens Bank, WesBanco.

City of Martins Ferry, Martins Ferry Police Department, without your total cooperation throughout the years, this could never have been possible!

Jan Miller, Bob Krahel, Chuck and Kristy Bellville, John and Brittany Ayers, Rocco Cionni “Quality Motor Cars.”

We would, at this time, like to convey our deepest thank you for your support for the previous sixteen Cruise-Ins. It has been a pleasure and privilege for Lis and I.

Lis and Butch Miller
