Billy, our president took office and he was a non-resident, so I'm sure you could win office in Bellaire ;-) JK!!!!!!

I am a Bridgeport resident for now and have no political aspirations, but thanks for the votes. I think anyone who knows me knows I love Bellaire.

It is obvious that Dan Brown and Lou Ann Bennett do not like one another, and I certainly cannot begin to understand that dynamic. I was merely commenting on the proposed Zombie Fest in an attempt to find an alternative. Perhaps they could choose not to show movies? I do not have the answers, just spitballin' a bit.

Could the event be held at The Plastic Brick Museum? I am sure that parking issues would arise, but I am trying to offer suggestions (I am sure this was considered). Also, I am not certain what activities go along with this type of event but the community center in West Bellaire may be worth exploring. Just thoughts.

"Zombies are great fun! That said, Dan Brown is a jerk.", I agree with this poster. I am a jerk. I have sat around silent watching Bellaire decline for years. Not any more. I am now using my voice and my typing skill to make Bellaire a better place. Over the past few years (since the Bellaire site has been active) some great things have been happening. More important the bad things have started to stop happening. People are now watching council and the village elders. Capping and stopping financial and power abuses is the 1st step to healing. And that abuse is being curbed as we speak!

Good morning. The festival is alive and well. We have multiple venues for this event. The apparent loss of the park is going to directly effect the car show, parking and a few of the other outdoor based events. But we have a large amount of venue items and we will be at the next council meeting once again fixing this injustice. I find it interesting the drama that is created by an idea. This is a simple festival that is going to bring in thousands of people to the village of Bellaire! It is going to be very kid friendly as well as fun for all!

Bellaire would be better off to worry about all the other nasty things going on in it's town than a zombie party. Righteous Bellaire, the home of fake haunted houses, evils spirits and witchcraft. Why worry about zombies?

Yep..Bellaire has been duped out of a day of food, fun, music, movies, vendors, car show, etc because why??? With all due respect Mr. Piatt how about just flat out telling the truth if your going to publicize what happened. We all know if you would have gone back to him and said we don't want R movies they would have been gone. Seriously..The Walking Dead was one of the most popular shows on television. People on council watch it and probably let their kids watch. Maybe not all but some for sure.

These feuds between Brown, Bennett, and the rest have turned Bellaire into a laughingstock.

Zombies are great fun! That said, Dan Brown is a jerk. Here's a guy that took to Facebook and criticized Bellaire's female populace for being overweight, while being a fat guy himself. Whatever he suffers is brought on himself by acting like a vindictive drama queen.

Maybe an alternate site could be chosen instead of public land.

I'm sure R movies could easily been eliminated instead of the entire festival. I'm not part of this feud between Mr. Brown and certain persons that are in positions of power with in the village government. But I can tell you one thing as a citizen. It looks pretty evident to me that every thing this guy tries to do that may show success within the village is being blocked on every turn and regardless of what councils reasoning is it certainly looks like it's a misuse of power by certain people and I do believe at election time changes are going to made as a result of this behavior.

DUPED? I'm afraid there is a sitting council person that believes the welcome sign to the town carries the wrong name. THIS IS BELLAIRE, not BENNETTAIRE. The poster offered to council was a SAMPLE! It was NOT, REPEAT NOT the actual poster to publicize the event. NO ZOMBIES in the park but Boo in The Park dress as you like, ZOMBIES INCLUDED! Council needs an over haul of people with BRAINS and not with skeletons in their closet to worried about there co council revealing them evidently!
