ST. CLAIRSVILLE - Visitors passing through the Ohio Valley will now have another option for an overnight stay.

A three-story Comfort Inn is being constructed at the top of Blaine Hill on National Road, just east of St. Clairsville.

Owner Vashel Patel, of Latitude Management Inc. of St. Clairsville, said the new hotel has been in the planning stages for about four years.

"We knew the Oil and Gas boom was coming, so we started planning some time ago for this adventure," he said. "It was now or never we thought."

This will be the fifth hotel that Patel and his group have opened between Columbus and Cleveland. They also own the Holiday Inn Express in St. Clairsville.

Patel said the new facility will be 30,000 square feet in all. It will include 55 standard rooms with king and queen size beds. There will be a workout facility, as well as breakfast bar that is included in a night's stay.

There will be parking for 60 vehicles, including some handicapped spaces and an elevator to reach the second and third floors.

Patel said between 20 and 24 full-time employees will be hired.

Latitude Management's website describes the company as a hospitality management company.

"Our company operates and co-invests in hotels and in all areas of the hospitality field including restaurants, athletic clubs, corporate housing, movie theaters, and country clubs," Patel offered. "Our background consists of over 15 years of knowledgeable management experience in the hospitality industry. Our company's current portfolio is geared towards the limited and full-service hotels located throughout the mid-western states."

He said that Latitude Managements goal for 2012-2013 is continuing its focus on developing limited and full-service hotels throughout the mid-western states. Our company is also looking to expand into corporate housing and restaurants in suburban areas.

"Our company's knowledgeable and experienced executive team has helped build a strong foundation. Latitude Management has grown into the organization it is today through great leadership and success. Latitude Management hopes to continue to grow and develop for years to come."

Bedway Builders of Morristown is the general contractor.
