WOODSFIELD - Action on leasing more than 78 acres owned by Monroe County to a Texas energy company was taken Monday by the county commissioners.

Commissioners signed a five-year lease with XTO Energy Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, in regard to 78.2694 acres of property, owned by the county in Center Township near the Monroe County Airport.

Mike Cannon represented the Fort Worth company at the meeting.

In other matters, Monroe County Recorder Ann Block said she had signed an agreement with ACS Enterprise Solutions LLC of Dallas, Texas, for imaging work on county records. The work will begin next week, and it will take three to four weeks to complete.

Commissioners heard an update on operations at the Monroe County Care Center from Connie Eyman, interim administrator at the center.

Two executive sessions were held during the meeting with no action taken after either session.

One executive session was with Block in regard to contract negotiations, and the other was requested by Prosecuting Attorney James L. Peters concerning pending litigation.

During a recent meeting, commissioners approved attendance at two out-of-town meetings. Commissioner Carl Davis received permission to attend a district sold waste management budget session in Caldwell.

Also OK'd was permission for commissioners Davis, Tim Price and John Pyles to attend a policy council session in Marietta.
