Drug sentences handed down

ST. CLAIRSVILLE - Numerous drug-related pleas were heard and sentences handed down at Belmont County Common Pleas Court Friday. Judge John M. Solovan II presided.

Dustin Lance Bennett, 24, 133 Lafayette, Youngstown, was sentenced on one count of felonious assault, a felony of the fourth degree. He was given five years of community controls. He will serve five months in jail and up to 30 days EOCC.

Kyle Nicholas Vinka, 22, 843 41st St., Bellaire, was sentenced on one count burglary, a felony of the third degree occurring July 27. He was given five years of community control sanctions. He will serve six months in jail with 13 days credit and six months EOCC.

Tyler Wayne Barker, 19, 55558 Merrits Road, Bellaire, was sentenced on one count burglary, a felony of the third degree occurring June 20. He received five years of community control sanctions. He will serve up to six months in jail consecutive with a sentence he is currently serving, then six months EOCC.

Dorothy Jeanene Shriner, 50, 177 East Market St., St. Clairsville, saw the revocation of her community controls after being terminated from EOCC. She will serve 24 months in the reformatory for women. She has credit for 529 days with 200 remaining. She was originally charged with trafficking in drugs, a felony of the first degree occurring Sept. 1, 2010.

Mercedes Dawn Meyers, 21, 65777 Pisgah Road, Quaker City, pleaded guilty to burglary, a felony of the third degree occurring June 11. A pre-sentence investigation and victim impact statement were ordered. Sentence was set for Dec. 21.

A warrant was issued for Tallia Renee Eason, 21, 806 Broadway St., Martins Ferry.
