YONYON, Nick, 94, of Bellaire, OH, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in Country Club Retirement Campus, Bellaire, OH.

Nick was born May 5, 1918 in Bellaire, OH, a son of the late Paul and Ilinka "Ida" Zatezalo Yonyon.

He was retired Tipple Operator at North American Coal Corporation No. 3 Mine, Powhatan Point, OH; a 1936 graduate of Bellaire High School; a 72-year proud member of the United Mine Workers of America. He served as Army Captain during World War II stationed at Guadal Canal.

Preceding him in death was three brothers, Theodore Yonyon, Joseph Yonyon and George Yonyon; four sisters, Ann Olinski, Amelia Papola, Daisy Visnic and Sophia (Sally) Yonyon; and a nephew, Larry Yonyon.

Surviving are five nieces and a nephew; six great- nieces and a great-nephew; and eight great-great- nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, OH, Friday, December 7, 2012, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. with Fr. Rade Merick as Celebrant.

Interment follows in Powhatan Cemetery Powhatan Point, OH.

Belmont County Council of the American Legion will conduct Military Honors at 12:45 p.m. Friday from the funeral home.
