PALICKA, Elizabeth "Liz", 93, of Bellaire, Ohio died Monday January 14, 2013.
She was born November 4, 1919 in Duncanwood, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth L. (Opelas) Jozwiak.
She was Catholic by faith and was a homemaker. Liz was a member of the Bridgeport Eagles and the Bellaire Moose Club. She loved her Sunday mornings, polka music, cooking, and doing crafts. She also modeled for Fashion Bug.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Palicka; son, Frank Palicka; daughter, Nancy Porter; step-son, Richard Davison; step-daughter, Jean Jewell; three grandsons, Thomas Wallace, and Gene and Joe Porter; four brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by 10 children, Mary "Toots" (Merle) Weaver, of Oregon, Kathleen (Bill) Bittengle, of Florida, Shirley Wallace of Bellaire, Ohio, Carl "Sonny" (Virginia) Palicka of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Connie Vrba of Bellaire, Ohio, Tony (Vickie) Palicka of Bridgeport, Ohio, Robert Palicka of Bellaire, Ohio, Debbie (Harold) Groves of Hilliard, Ohio, Cheri (Mike) Flowers of Bellaire, Ohio, Velma (Jon) Conaway of Bellaire, Ohio, one sister, Martha Haney of Cadiz, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Thursday January 17, 2013 at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, Ohio from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held Friday January 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Father Daniel Heusel and Reverend David Demerest officiating.
Interment in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
