Fire damages St. C. residence

A HOUSE at 149 Bett-Mar Lane, St. Clairsville, was damaged in a fire on Sunday night.

The Cumberland Trail Fire Department and the Barton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire shortly before midnight and were on the scene until 3:30 a.m.

A spokesperson for the Cumberland Trail Fire Department said firefighters got a good start on the blaze. He said most of the damage was confined to the kitchen area and a portion of the exterior of the house.

The spokesperson said three people were at home at the time of the fire.?All were able to get out safely. He said there were no injuries to the residents or to the fire fighters.

The Salvation Army Canteen was also at the fire. A representative from the Ohio Fire Marshal's Office is expeced to view the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
