ST. CLAIRSVILLE The 22nd annual St. Clairsville Chamber of Commerce's Home & Business Expo is less than two weeks away.

Scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 1-2, planning is well under way for the annual event, now in its third year at the James E. Carnes Center off Roscoe Rd.

Previously held inside the Ohio Valley Mall, the move to the Carnes Center has been zaa positive one for the expo according to St. Clairsville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jennifer Woollard.

THE?22ND annual St. Clairsville Chamber of Commerce Home &?Business Expo is coming up on Friday and Saturday, March 1-2 at the James E. Carnes Center in St. Clairsville

"The vendors like the setup because here we have a targeted audience," Woollard said.

"They really appreciate the people coming to the expo solely for that reason."

That's evident by business participation for the first two years.

Woollard noted that both in 2011 and 2012, all available vendor spaces were full.

There are still spots remaining for this year's expo, but Woollard expects those to be filled by March 1.

"We have some booths spread out throughout the facility that are still available," she said. "Both in the front and the large room inside the Carnes Center. It's first come, first served but we do our best to fit a vendor in a particular spot that they'd like.

"We've been receiving calls and applications all week."

That's likely because the large turnout the expo receives every year.

During the two-day event, thousands of Ohio Valley residents and some from beyond head to the Carnes Center, specifically inquiring about businesses and their products/services.

Woollard noted that if businesses are unable to participate as a vendor that they can still promote their business by donating for the vendor care room. Items such as sample-size snacks, drinks, reading material, pens, coupons and other similar items are needed.

Donations are also being accepted for door prizes to be presented to either vendors or the general public via drawings at the chamber booth during the expo.

The expo is sponsored by: Carrie Stingle, Union National Mortgage; North Star Polaris; Tim O'Grady, State Farm Insurance; Everly Concrete Products; the Belmont County Safety Council and Country Club Retirement Campus.
