HOGAN, Edward Ben, 82, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Liza's Place, Valley Hospice South, Wheeling, WV.

He was born May 19, 1930, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Edward C. Hogan and Margaret (Gersting) Heatherton.

He was retired after 40 years from Conrail Railroad. He also retired after 26 years service in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve as a E-8 MSgt..

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Sue A. (Stewart) Hogan; two daughters, Nancy (Ed) Duke of Martins Ferry, and Patty (Scott) Williams of Sunbury, OH; two sons, David (Ardin) Applegarth of Columbus, OH and Edward M. (EunJoo) Hogan of Alta Loma, CA; a sister, Margaret Feenerty of Wheeling, WV; six half-sisters, seven grandchildren; Keri Duke, Michael Applegarth, Chad, Benjamin, and Erin Williams, Kimberly and Michael Hogan; and two great-grandchildren, Paisley and Mason Duke.

Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where services will be held Thursday, February 21, 2013, at 1 p.m. with Rev. David Stammerjohn officiating. Burial follows at Belmont Co. Memorial Park, St. Clairsville, OH.

Deacons of the church will hold services Wednesday at 7 p.m. followed by the Martins Ferry Fire Department at 7:30 p.m. both in the funeral home.

Military honors will be presented by the Belmont County V.F.W. Honor Guard at 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral.
