Ullom: 50th wedding anniversary

Robert J. and Beverly L. (Waide) Ullom celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 8. They were united in holy matrimony on June 8, 1963 at First United Methodist Church in Martins Ferry.

Ullom graduated from Bridgeport High School, is an Army veteran and is retired from Ohio Edison.

His wife, Bev, graduated from Martins Ferry High School, received her degree in radiology technology and is retired from Shadyside Clinic.

After a military stint in Oklahoma, the pair lived briefly in Columbus and Bridgeport before moving to Shadyside in 1967. Their activities have included Ohio Eastern Star, Women's Club, Ladies Civic Club, Jaycees, Osiris Shrine Temple, and Masonic Lodge. Bev retired after 25 years as choir director of Lincoln Avenue UMC, where they have both been active members for over 40 years.

Their daughters are Dana Ullom-Vucelich (Sam Vucelich, Jr.) and Deborah Mullin. Their grandchildren are Jenna Vucelich, Samuel Vucelich and Jordyn Mullin all of Columbus, Ohio.

In celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, friends are encouraged to join their family for a cake celebration between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the downstairs Fellowship Hall of Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church in Shadyside on Sunday, June 16.
