Goodman earns institute award

ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- Emily Goodman, a St. Clairsville native, has been honored with the Professional Achievement Award from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).

According to the IREM, this award recognizes professionals who are IREM credentialed and have (1) continued their professional development and (2) have made outstanding professional accomplishments beyond earning their IREM credential.

Ms. Goodman, 32, holds several professional certifications and designations, including: Certified Property Manager (CPM) Accredited Residential Manager (ARM), and Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS).

She was recognized as both CPM of the Year and Property Manager of the Year for 2012 by the Piedmont Triad Institute of Real Estate Management and Regional Manager of the year by the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association, respectively. In addition, several of her articles have been published by the Journal of Property Management and other trade publications.

Ms. Goodman has been in the property management business since the age of 23, and has spent the past decade developing an extensive repertoire of skills and knowledge.

In addition to the credentials listed above, she is a licensed real estate broker-in-charge and is currently enrolled in a Master's program for Real Estate and construction.

Ms. Goodman is the daughter of John H. Goodman, President of Goodman Group, Inc., and Marylou Goodman of St. Clairsville.

She is a 1999 graduate of The Linsly School in Wheeling, WV, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Elon University.

Currently, she is the Regional Property Manager for CORE Realty Holdings Management, Inc. where she oversees a portfolio of 3400 apartments and a staff of over 60 employees.
