Swallie leads UL by Edison

• Beallsville, MC, Barnesville win

MORRISTOWN - Amanda Swallie scored 15 points to lead three players in double figures as Union Local topped Edison, 72-56, in girls' high school basketball action at "The Hangar" on Thursday night.

Abby Collins added 12 points for the Jets (2-1), while Kylie Russell had 10.

Kayli Stewart paced the Wildcats with 15 points, while Katelyn Pollock had 13.

Beallsville 43, Hundred 33

HUNDRED - Talitha Bedford poured in 14 points and the Blue Devils (2-2) made it two wins in a row by topping the host Hornets.

Dicey Stewart added nine points for Beallsville.

Valerie Soles scored eight points for the Hornets.

Monroe Central 53, Magnolia 40

WOODSFIELD - Allison Kuhn scored 14 points and had six steals and four assists as the Seminoles won their second straight with a home triumph against debuting Magnolia.

Annie Digity added 13 points for Monroe Central (2-1), while Kelsey Dick added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Grace Berisford topped the Blue Eagles with a game-high 17 points.

Toronto 67, St. John Central 23

TORONTO - Toronto outscored St. John Central 21-0 in the fourth quarter en route to defeating the Irish, continuing to play without injured standout Jessica Alvey.

Lyndsay Bodnar led three Red Knights scoring in double figures with 21. Lexie Berger added 19 points, while Makayla Bauman had 11.

Marissa Rose paced St. John (1-3) with 16 points.

SJC won the reserve game as Rachel Russell netted seven points and McKenzie Manukin added five.

Fort Frye 50, River 16

HANNIBAL - Brooke Borich scored 23 points as visiting Fort Frye stymied River (4-1).

Makayla Liedtke added 13 points for the Cadets, who limited the Pilots to four points in the second half.

Jensen Caretti paced River with 11 points.

Barnesville 44, Caldwell 39

CALDWELL -- Miranda Plumly scored 13 points, Paige Huntsman added 12 and Shayla Markovich had 11 as the Shamrocks (2-2) won for the second straight night. Markovich also pulled down seven rebounds.
