Monroe girls top Caldwell; Ferry, River post victories

WOODSFIELD–Amy Bettinger tallied eight field goals for 18 points to lead Monroe Central to a 50-33 victory over Caldwell in girls’ high school basketball action Monday night.

Kalista Friday added a spark with a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Seminoles (11-8 overall, 5-2 PVC).

Martins Ferry 55, Edison 27

RICHMOND — Madison Ging scored 17 points to lead the Purple Riders in a rout of the Wildcats, beating them for the second time in three days.

River 63, Frontier 18

HANNIBAL — Lauren Flannery netted 21 points, Riley Lollathin 12 and Carsyn Reynolds 10 as the Pilots (15-4) rolled past the visiting Cougars.

Beallsville 58, Valley 45

PINE GROVE–Wyatt Brown turned in 15 points to help lift the Blue Devils (8-7) to a road victory over the Lumberjacks.

Brown was aided by Dakota Phillips with 15 points and Spencer Baker supported with 10.
