HANNIBAL — Lauren Flannery went for 23 points Saturday afternoon as River cruised to a 60-20 victory against Toronto in an Ohio Division IV sectional girls’ basketball final inside the R.L. Potts Gymnasium.

The Pilots advance to face Fort Frye on Wednesday night at 7 in a district semifinal at Meadowbrook High School.

Riley Lollathin and Liv Rose each added eight points for River, the district’s second seed.

Beallsville 42, Tusky Catholic 38

BEALLSVILLE — Ashley Howell scored 15 points and Ashlie Louden added 10 as Beallsville topped Tusky Catholic in an Ohio Division IV sectional final.

Olivia Muncy added 11 points for the Blue Devils (20-4), who scored the final points of the game to get the victory.

Beallsville travels to Martins Ferry on Wednesday to battle Shadyside for the third time this season, this time in a district semifinal. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
