WOODSFIELD — Kynzi Bishop had 11 points, five aces, seven kills and seven assists Wednesday night helping Monroe Central sweep Steubenville Catholic 25-12, 25-16, 25-17 in an Ohio Division sectional volleyball semifinal on Junior Winland Court.

Allee Zwick and Trista Morris each added eight points for the Seminoles (16-7), who advance to face Tusky CC at noon Saturday back in Woodsfield.

Kalista Friday tacked on 13 digs for Monroe Central.

Tusky CC Ousts River

WOODSFIELD — Allison Bennett surpassed the 2,000 assist mark for her career, but River still fell to Tusky CC 25-19, 25-15, 25-6 inside Monroe Central High School.

Bennett finished with six assists and nine digs. Emily Taylor added 10 digs for the Pilots, while Myla Ivey had five kills; Lacey Cordery and Hannah Raper each had eight digs; and Jonayah Moeller had seven.

Beallsville Move On

SARAHSVILLE — Ashlie Louded recorded 27 assists as Beallsville reached Saturday’s sectional final vs. Shenandoah by topping Toronto 25-14, 25-15, 23-25, 25-10.

Ashley Howell added 15 kills for the Blue Devils, while Makenna Phillips had eight kills.
