Friday paces Monroe Central girls to win over Shenandoah
WOODSFIELD — Kalista Friday scored 13 points and dished out eight assists Thursday night as Monroe Central roared past Shenandoah, 56-37, in girls’ high school basketball action on Junior Winland Court.
The victory pushed the Seminoles to 5-1, while the Zeps dropped to 6-2. Monroe Central’s lone loss came at the hands of unbeaten Union Local (6-0).
Allee Zwick added 12 points and six assists for the Seminoles, while Amy Bettinger chipped in 10 points.
River 35, Frontier 32
HANNIBAL — Kylie Piatt scored 17 points, including a trio of trifectas, as River got past Frontier inside the R.L. Potts Gymnasium, the Pilots’ second-striaght triumph.
Steub. Catholic 55, Bridgeport 27
WOLFHURST — Isabella Oliver scored 15 points and Hannah Olszewski had 13 as Steubenville Catholic kept Bridgeport winless in a contest played on Frank Baxter Court.
Jaren Tucker scored 10 points for the Bulldogs.

PADEN CITY — Wyatt Brown delivered a game-high 16 points to lead Beallsville over Paden City.
Dakota Phillips and Adam Baker each turned in 14 points and Spencer Jarrett tallied 12 and shot a perfect six of six from the charity stripe.
