Prep Roundup: Harrison bowlers sweep Bridgeport

NEW ATHENS — Aleyna Runevitch fired a school-record 245 girls’ game Tuesday afternoon as Harrison Central’s topped Bridgeport, 2,0007-1,238, in bowling action at JR lanes.

Runevitch finished with a 470 tw-game series. Tory Thompson added a 352 for the Huskies.

Sierra Simeth paced the Bulldogs with a 296 series.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE– Alyssa Lingenfelter’s 165 paced Buckeye local past Martins Ferry.

Megan mahan rolled a 119 for the Purple Riders.

NEW ATHENS — Hunter Stark rolled a 428 series and Logan Cologie had a 425 as Harrison Central remained undefeated by topping Bridgeport.

Connor Markus fired a 383 series for the Bulldogs, while Brennon Meager had a 359.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Conrad Schuetz rolled a 224, helping Buckeye Local past Martins Ferry.

Francis Toohey’s 202 guided the Purple Riders.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Arick Clark had a 400 series, but it wasn’t enough as Barnesville fell to Parkersburg South.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Monroe Central 78, Toronto 62

WOODSFIELD — Luke Burkhart drained six 3-pointers Tuesday nighten route to a game-high 25 points helping Monroe Central improve to 2-0 with a 78-62 victory against Toronto in boys’ basketball action on ‘Junior” Winland Court.

Talin Babcock added 14 points for the Seminoles, while Wyatt Young and Auston Hogue each had 12.

Shane Keenan paced the Red Knights with 24 points. A.J. Clegg added 16 points, while Brendan Matyas had 10.

Newcomerstown 57, Beallsville 51

NEWCOMERSTOWN — Alex Porcher poured in 18 points as Newcomerstown bested debuting Beallsville.

Kollin Ludwig paced the Blue Devils with 11 points. Wyatt Brown and Adam Baker each added 10 points.
