PREP ROUNDUP: Thompson, River topple Crusaders
HANNIBAL — Stone Thompson scored 14 points Friday night and River snapped a two-game losing skid with a 56-47 boys’ basketball victory against Steubenville Catholic inside the R.L. Potts Gym.
Brody Lollathin and Ty Long each added 13 points for the Pilots (6-11), who outscored the Crusaders 15-8 in the third quarter to take command.
Luca Connor led all scorers with 33 points for SCC.
Cameron 79, Beallsville 58
CAMERON –Jessop Broughton netted a team-high 18 points and brought down 13 rebounds as Cameron used a balanced effort to put away Beallsville.
Garrett Scott was a rebound shy of a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Trevor Bereford scored 10 points with eight rebounds and four blocks, while Noah Neely (16 points, four assists) and Zane Clutter (11) also had solid nights for the Dragons (9-7).
Adam Baker was the high man for the Blue Devils with 22 points. Dakota Phillips scored 19.
