Wheeling to open football season against Notre Dame College
WHEELING – The Mountain East Conference has issued its revised 2020 football schedule. The schedule is a 10-game, round-robin slate that includes Alderson Broaddus.
Wheeling University will play five home games and five road contests in its second season of varsity competition. The Cardinals will open the 2020 campaign on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. at home against defending MEC champion Notre Dame (Ohio).
The Cardinals will now play at Alderson Broaddus on Thursday, Sept. 17 in Phillipi, West Virginia. Wheeling was originally scheduled to travel to Urbana on that same date before the school announced its closure.
Other notable dates include hosting the MEC’s Thursday Night Football Game on Sept. 24 against Glenville State, and the Homecoming Football Game on Oct. 10 against UNC-Pembroke at 1 p.m.
The Cardinals will close the season with a trip to West Liberty on Saturday, Nov. 14. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m.
