Beallsville rolls past Bellaire

BELLAIRE – Invading Beallsville owned an eight-point lead at halftime and didn’t let up in the second half en route to claiming a victory Wednesday, 42-26.

The Blue Devils were led by Makenna Phillips, who pumped in 17 points. Kinley Hughes added nine.

The Big Reds (6-13), meanwhile, were led by freshman Allie Ault’s 10 points.

Monroe Central 50, Frontier 33

BEAVERTON – Monroe Central bounced back from Monday’s loss at Union Local in impressive fashion, taking down Frontier to improve to 11-4.

The Seminoles were led by Kynzi Bishop’s 14 points. Junior point guard Kalista Friday added nine points, all of which came from the foul line, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals.

The Cougars were led by Kylie Lamm’s 11.

Shadyside 48,

Warren 45

SHADYSIDE – The Tigers picked up their 11th win in 14 tries Wednesday, fending off Warren Local.

The Tigers were able to preserve victory thanks to a strong 12-of-16 effort at the foul line along with an strong 20-point performance from sophomore Gentry Brown.

Backing Brown’s production was senior standout Baylee Wach, who went for 13.

Barnesville 71,

Bridgeport 67

BARNESVILLE – The Shamrocks held off a valiant come-back effort from Bridgeport to pick up their fourth win in 11 outings Wednesday.

The Shamrocks were led by senior Kason Powell’s 22.

Freshman Asa Geillenger added 16 and Colton Hines finished with 10.

The balanced Bulldogs (8-8) received 15 points from senior Riese O’Kernik. Freshman Quinton Burlenski and senior Dylan Gregorcic evenly divided 28. Cooper Dulesky added 13 and Adam Sommer finished with nine.

These two teams meet again on Friday at Bridgeport.

Monroe Central 74, Edison 32

RICHMOND – The long trip from Woodsfield to Edison was worth it for the Seminoles, who posted an impressive victory.

Monroe Central (8-4) was paced by Dillon Lincoln, who went for 17. Malachi Rose-Burton added 13.

Edison was paced by Isaac Zastidill’s 11.

St. Clairsville

splits at Marietta

MARIETTA – Fresh off winning the Buckeye 8 titles last weekend in Steubenville, the Red Devils were back in the pool Wednesday at Marietta. The girls squad topped the Tigers, 53-33, but the Red Devil boys fell, 40-37.

St. Clairsville’s girls received two individual wins from junior Brenna Planey (200 IM and 500 freestyle), junior Casadie DiBetta (50 free, 100 backstroke).

Senior standout Maggie Marody and Kylie McKeegan picked up an individual win for the Red Devils in the 100 free and 200 freestyle, respectively.

The Red Devils also swept all of the relay events.

On the boys’ side, the Red Devils picked up a pair of wins from Evan Yost in the 100 fly and 500 free, while Nate Yost was the winner in the 50 and 100 freestyles. Jack Gasber won the 100 breast and the 200IM.

St. C. also won the 200 and 400 free relays.
