Harrison edges Ferry; UL rolls
MARTINS FERRY — Harrison Central picked up its seventh win in 11 outings Monday, fending off Martins Ferry, 38-35, inside the Tolbert Gymnasium.
The Huskies were led by McKayla Dunkle, who had 15 points. Britton Positano added 10.
The Purple Riders (5-6), meanwhile, were led by Eve Agnew’s 13 and Maria Clark’s 11.
Union Local 78, Bellaire 25
BELLAIRE — Union Local continued to steamroll its way through Buckeye 8 competition, toppling homesteading Bellaire on Monday.
The Jets were led by sophomore post Reagan Vinskovich, who had 28 points. Classmate Torre Kildow added 16 and junior Hannah Merritt added 11.
Bellaire, which produced nary a double-figure scorer, was led by Lizzie McAninch’s eight points.
Monroe Central 63, Frontier 51
WOODSFIELD — Monroe Central picked up another victory Monday evening, outlasting Frontier.
Haylynn Hiles led the Seminoles with 18 points. Kynzi Bishop added 17 and junior Kalista Friday went for 13 points and six rebounds.
Frontier was led by Kara Ramsey’s 20 points. Tracey Kirkpatrick added 10.
Buckeye Local 42, Beaver Local 37
ROGERS — Buckeye Local placed three players in double figures and erased a nine-point deficit for its third win of the season Monday.
Landyn Walker (12), Megan Valuska (11) and Demetria Christian added 10.
