Bridgeport picks up first win; Monroe top Zeps

BEALLSVILLE — Bridgeport picked up its first win of the young boys’ high school basketball campaign Friday night with a 68-66 victory at Beallsville.

Alex Moore paced the Bulldogs (1-3) with 19 points.

Colin Jackson added 15 and Daniel Spurlock added 11, including a trio of bonus goals.

Brandon Louden led all scorers with 26 for the Blue Devils.

Logan Taylor had 15 and Garrett Perkins had 10.

River 50, Steubenville 37

AT HANNIBAL, Kam Potts drilled seven treys en route to a game-high 25 points as the Pilots navigated past the visiting Big Red.

Brody Longwell added nine points and Brody Lollathin eight for the winners.

Monroe Central 48,

Shenandoah 38

AT WOODSFIELD, the Seminoles held off the visiting Zeps.

Malachi Rose-Burton scored 21 points in leading Monroe Central. Colin Kroll chipped in 15 and Tucker Howell nine.

AT WELLSBURG, the Cadets trailed 10-9 after one quarter but outscored the Big Reds 19-0 in the decisive second quarter.

Bethany Bonar paced Bellaire with 14 points, which included a trio of treys. Zara Harveth added eight markers.

Carleigh Grimm led three double figure scorers for Linsly with 16. Haley Heitz and Haylee Cook had 10 each.
