MARTINS FERRY — Union Local built a 16-point lead at halftime and never looked back en route to claiming a repeat victory against the Purple Riders inside the Tolbert Gymnasium, 54-28.

The Jets, who have now won 11 in a row, moved within a win of clinching their third straight Buckeye 8 South title in the process.

Leading the way for the Jets were their junior duo of Torre Kildow (14) and Reagan Vinskovich (13). Junior Emily Kellaway and sophomore Lauren Miller each had nine.

The Purple Riders (6-7) received 10 points from senior Maria Clark and nine from Lindse Sidon.

BARNESVILLE — The Warriors gradually pulled away from the host Shamrocks to complete the season sweep.

Buckeye Trail was led by Josie Creighton, who had 22 points. Kacey Hastings added 12.

The Shamrocks (1-13) were paced by Ellie Thompson’s 11.

EAST LIVERPOOL — The Huskies picked up their seventh victory in 13 tries Thursday by outlasting the homestanding Potters.

The Huskies were led by senior guard Maddy Butler, who went for 14, while senior post McKayla Dunkle added 12.

Zak Dobson (215) was the Purple Riders lone double winner in matches contested.
