Monroe Central wins first game

WOODSFIELD — Tucker Howell ran for two touchdowns and passed for a third as Monroe Central (1-5) tallied all of its points in the first half in a 36-8 rout of winless Magnolia Friday night at Monroe Park.

Howell had scoring runs of 52 and 45 yards, while also finding Carter Knowlton for a 29-yard scoring play.

Arville Rutter added a 9-uard touchdown run and Dakota Phillips ran 56 yards for another Seminoles TD.

Howell gained 86 yards on just three carries, while passing for 87 on five completions. Knowlton caught two passes for 66 yards. Phillips added 54 yards on the ground and made 11 tackles on defense. Price had 10 stopds.
