HEATH — The field for the Division III State Track and Field Championships are officially set.

Regional action wrapped up across the Buckeye State and no fewer than five area individuals and one relay team have survived two levels of post-season action and are officially headed to the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at The Ohio State University for the state meet, which will open next Friday.

Shadyside, which won the district title last week at Newcomerstown, went to Heath High School and put forth another impressive effort in finishing with 37 points to earn the regional runner-up trophy.

The Tigers did the bulk of their scoring in the two hurdle events thanks to the Brothers Booth.

All told, they combined to score 22 in the timber events.

For the second straight weekend, Dylan Booth was extremely impressive. The junior won the regional title in the high hurdles, skimming 10 hurdles in a personal-best 14.78.

He came back a short-time later and added a bronze medal in the intermediate hurdles with a solid 40.98 clocking.

His twin brother, Nathan, is headed back to the state meet in the highs after posting a 14.85 to finish third.

Tiger senior Kooper Chimley will compete at the state meet in the 400 meter dash. He circled the Heath oval in an impressive 50.26 to pick up the silver medal.

Shadyside’s 4×4 team of Booth, Isaac Green, Booth and Chimley dropped more than five seconds from their time during Wednesday’s qualifying round to pull out the fourth spot in a time of 3:30.25.

Bellaire junior Maison Sochor is headed back to the state meet in the 110 high hurdles. Sochor finished second in the high hurdles with a season-best time of 14.83.

The lone area Division III female still practicing this week is Bellaire freshman Allyson Vingia.

The talented discus thrower had a strong showing in the finals to rise into the bronze-medal position. She launched the platter to a mark of 120-ft-4 on her last throw of the competition.

Caldwell’s Gwyn Lori won the regional title in the event with a mark of 126-2.
