Huskies move above .500; Shamrocks top St. Clairsville

CADIZ — The Harrison Central Huskies moved to 3-2 on the season Monday with a 52-35 home victory over Beaver Local.

The Huskies’ Kelsey Powers led all scorers with 16 points, while also pulling down five rebounds. Freshman Shayla Namath scored 10, and junior Mikayla Pelegreen added seven points and five rebounds.

Mallory Miller led Beaver Local with seven points.

Cameron 64, Tyler 38

CAMERON — The Dragons breezed by the Knights on Monday, behind solid scoring outings from guard tandem Kendra Thomas and Macey Bertram.

Thomas scored 17 points, and Bertram scored 13. Each had a pair of 3-pointers to their name. Aubrey Thomas (11 points) and Kenzie Scott (10 points) joined their teammates in double figures.

Ava Dunn and Camryn Yoho each scored a dozen for Tyler.

Cameron led 35-10 at the half.

Barnesville 48, St. Clairsville 23

BARNESVILLE — The Shamrocks (2-4) made it back-to-back wins with their 25-point victory over the visiting Red Devils.

Aiva Leasure led the winners with 15 points, one more than Lydia Welch.

Elizabeth Morgan paced St. Clairsville with eight points. Gracie Gray added seven.

Shadyside 48, Frontier 31

BEAVERTOWN — The visiting Tigers (1-4) jumped on the Cougars from the start in earning their first win of the campaign.

Kaci Tsoras scored 13 points and Ali Weatherson added 12 for Shadyside. Cam Kolvek chipped in nine.

BOWLING

East Liverpool Sweeps Brooke

EAST LIVERPOOL — The host Potters claimed both ends of a high school bowling match at Walnut Lanes.

BOYS

Jordan McDole rolled a 203 and Kaleb Hanlon a 202 to pace East Liverpool to a 2015 to 1666 victory. Grady Rudibaugh had a 364 series.

Alex Obeldobel had a pair of 186 games for a 372 series for Brooke.

GIRLS

The Potters received a 195 game from Cameron Estell and a 295 series from Danny Riggle for a 1732 to 1348 win.

Kaylee Tuttle had a 171 game and a 297 series for Brooke.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Wheeling Central 75, Capital 22

FAIRMONT — The Maroon Knights made a successful debut with a convincing victory over the Cougars inside the Fairmont Armory.

Addie Payton and Seneca Heller each outscored Capital with 27 and 24 points, respectively, as Wheeling Central knocked down 14 three-point field goals, including five each by Payton and Heller.

Wheeling Central hosts Monroe Central on Wednesday in East Wheeling.
