Harrison track has solid pieces

CADIZ — Finally!

After watching it sit empty last season, because of the COVID-19 pandemic that led to the cancellation of spring sports in Ohio, the newly constructed track at Harrison Central was unused.

That will change very soon as the Huskies prepare for a new season of track and field and will unveil their new oval.

Utilizing that all-weather surface will be a solid roster for boys coach Luke Turner and girls coach Willy Walker.

“Attitudes and spirits are high,” Turner said. “Everyone is excited to be practicing with the new eight-lane facility every day. We are looking forward to a great season.”

The Huskies return just four letter winners from the 2019 squad. They include: senior Kanyon Coleman (hurdles, sprints), senior Luke Forrester (middle distance), senior Logan Laney (distance) and senior Nathan Willis (throws).

The balance of the boys team consists of newcomers. They are Thomas Sasak, Nathan Bertolino, Colton Howell, Riley Kubic, Taylor Cope, Charles Garbrandt, Brent Malcomb, Grayden Sproul, Hunter Bittinger, Aiden Hays, Hunter Boals, Nicolas Malone and Brycen Wallace.
