Taste of China opens this weekend
CADIZ A new Chinese restaurant has opened its doors this weekend – Taste of China, sharing a building with the Cadiz Submarina.
Samuel and Diana Liang, Cadiz resident since December, had owned the property where the building stands. It had been used as a restaurant, and when the tenants’ lease was up, the Liangs saw the potential of the place.
Samuel said they decided to open a Submarina because of the quality of food and service offered by the franchise. He noted that the restaurant uses fresh meats and ingredients and bakes its bread fresh every day.
He said the franchise also stresses cleanliness and customer service
It took about five months to prepare the building.
Samuel said he saw that the building was also ideal for housing a Chinese restaurant.
“It already had a kitchen. Just add a Chinese stove and it’s almost perfect,” he said.
He noted that the Liangs operated a Chinese restaurant in San Diego 25 years ago. Sun’s Kitchen, named for Diana’s maiden name, was a successful venture. He said the business was one of the 10 best restaurants in San Diego for 10 years.
He added that the business uses only fresh vegetables. Their chicken dishes are only breast meat. They use natural ingredients instead of MSG.
“We treat our customers like family,” he said. “Our customers like our environment. It’s a family restaurant.”
They employ 15 people and offer drive-thru and catering service.
The business is located at 649 Lincoln Ave. The number is (740) 942-3092. Regular hours are Monday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sundays from noon-8 p.m.
