WHEELING — Located in the Center Market section of Wheeling, Vocelli’s Pizza offers not only an award-winning artisan pizza crafted from family recipes for more than 25 years, but a variety of other delicious menu items including strombolis, subs, pasta, oven-roasted wings, chicken tenders, salads, desserts and much more.

Owner’s Alice and Veli Dolu opened their pizza business in 1994 in downtown Wheeling under the Pizza Outlet name, which eventually became the Vocelli Pizza franchise. They opened at their new location in Center Market last summer.

“We love the Center Market area. … It is the center and kind of the heart of Wheeling right now,” said Alice Dolu. “We are open seven days a week. We are closed two days of the year — Thanksgiving and Christmas — otherwise we are open for business,” she said.

Besides their pizza, which can be ordered with a variety of toppings, Vocelli Pizza offers 11 artisan pizzas, such as Hawaiian, original buffalo chicken, philly steak and chicken pesto pizzas. Salads, wings, stombolis and pasta are just a few other customer favorites, according to Dolu.

She said they are currently featuring macaroni and cheese pizza, and their Vocelli rolls are very popular. Pepperoni, spinach mushroom, bacon cheddar or garlic are the fillings customers can choose from when ordering Vocelli rolls.

It’s Vocelli’s signature dough, which has extra virgin olive oil baked right in to it, that makes their pizza, rolls and other menu items such as their bruschetta so tasty. Vocelli Pizza believes it’s the little things that make a difference, such as offering their own private-labeled traditional red pizza sauce and 100 percent real Wisconsin mozzarella cheese.

As a family-owned business, Vocelli’s stays connected to the community through little league teams, school programs and other non-profit organizations.

They offer delivery, and they are open seven days a week. The store hours are 10:30 a.m. to midnight, Sunday through Thursday; and 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information call 304-232-1100.
