Barnesville High alumni banquet to be held Saturday

BARNESVILLE — The Barnesville High School Alumni Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held during the alumni banquet on Saturday in the cafeteria area on the Barnesville High School campus.

In the past, alumni have expressed concerns with the current Hall of Fame situation. Therefore, the Barnesville Area Education Foundation has been working with School Pride, from Columbus, Ohio, to implement a new Hall of Fame display concept. The HOF display will be unveiled and become a permanent fixture in the main entrance atrium area of the high school campus.

This year’s Hall of Fame inductees will be: J. Timothy Parkinson a 1960 graduate; and Thomas E. Claugus, a 1969 graduate of Barnesville High School.

In addition, the following classes have been invited to attend and will be honored for reunions: Class of 1939, 80th reunion; Class of 1944, 75th reunion; Class of 1949, 70th reunion; Class of 1954, 65th reunion; Class of 1959, 60th reunion; Class of 1964, 55th reunion; Class 1969, 50th reunion; Class of 1974, 45th reunion; and Class of 1979, 40th reunion.

Also, the new meaningful and important display of all HOF honorees and their accomplishments will be available for viewing. A rendering of the HOF display is pictured above.

The banquet social hour will begin at 5 p.m. with dinner served starting at 6 p.m.
