Sheriff’s office detectives solve Holloway home invasion

IN FEBRUARY, of 2014, an elderly female reported that an unknown male broke into her Holloway residence armed with a pistol and robber her of prescription medications. The victim reported that the assailant struck her repeatedly with the pistol and also kicked her dog that was attempting to defend her. Sadly, this action resulted in the death of the dog.

Detective Rusty Lucey led this investigation. On March 13, 2014, Patrick T. Mazik of 307 East Main St., Holloway was arrested in connection with this crime and charged with Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Assault. Mazik was also charged with Probation Violation. Mazik is being held without bond.

Sheriff’s Office Detectives also served a search warrant at Mazik’s residence on March 14. The investigation is still pending and further charges are expected pending the review of this case by the Belmont County Prosecutors Office.

Home Invasions are among one of the most serious crimes committed. No different then the previous Home Invasions that have been solved. The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office will not stop until these criminals are behind bars.
