PAPPAS, Catherine, 93, of Zanesville, passed away at 8:25 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Cedar Hill Care Center.
Born Dec. 28, 1915 in Weirton, West Virginia, Catherine was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church in Martin’s Ferry and owner/operator of the Rainbow Center since 1939, where she truly enjoyed her work.
Surviving are two sons, Pete (Verne) Pappas and George (Hilda) Pappas, all of Muskingum County; three grandchildren, Zane, Natasha and George and three great-grandchildren.
Ms. Pappas was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory G. Pappas, who died in 1980; her parents, George and Rose Sharpino; a brother, Pete Sharpino and a sister, Jeanne Monogioudis.
Calling hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009 and from 10-11 a.m. Friday March 27, 2009 at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, 56 South 5th Street.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at the funeral home with Father Menelaos Papageorge officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
