Kroll agrees to pay back $17M in settlement dispute

EAST PALESTINE — Kroll Settlement Administration has agreed to pay $17.25 million to the settlement class to resolve a dispute with class counsel over its handling of personal injury payments from the $600 million settlement between Norfolk Southern and residents affected by the 2023 East Palestine train derailment. 2 people injured in August well explosion have died

Two people have died since being injured in an orphan well explosion in Washington County in August — the most recent on Dec. 14. Chris Pinkerton, 48, of Woodsfield, was an employee of Monroe Drilling at the site of the blast on Independence Township 420 in the Wayne National Forest, according to the Ohio Oil and Gas Association. OHHC receives grant from Delta Dental Foundation to expand services

Children enjoy early Christmas during ‘Shop With A Cop’ events

MOUNDSVILLE — Many Marshall County children enjoyed an early Christmas shopping spree thanks to local law enforcement agencies’ Shop With A Cop programs. The Moundsville Police Department and Marshall County Sheriff’s Department both recently held events allowing dozens of children to pick out toys and clothes for Christmas.
