T-L Photo/CARRI GRAHAM Ferguson ‘s House of Furniture opened this weekend for a Levin Furniture Liquidation sale at its new location at the Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Ohio Valley Mall’s newest furniture store is briefly open this week for a liquidation sale.

Ferguson’s House of Furniture opened its doors for the first time at it’s new mall location Friday for a furniture liquidation sale. The store will only be open for the next few weeks before its reopening in early October.

In July the mall announced the new store’s arrival. Ferguson’s will inhabit the former Levin’s Furniture location next to ICR Sales & Services. The building has remained empty since Levin’s closing in March.

Joe Bell, spokesman for the mall’s parent company Cafaro Co., said the store is getting rid of its excess inventory prior to moving it’s new furniture into the new location. Ferguson’s is expanding locations, with its original location located in Wintersville.

“They (Ferguson’s) are getting rid of their excess inventory, then they’ll move in their new furniture,” he said.

Bell said the store will temporarily remain open until the old inventory is gone then the store will close prior to its grand opening set for October. The store’s liquidation sale includes all furniture at 50 percent off this week.

Bell said once all of the old inventory is sold, Ferguson’s will begin renovating and moving its new inventory into the nearly 25,000-square-foot mall location.

“After the excess inventory is sold, they’ll begin the customization of the building,” he said.

The new store is slated to hold a grand opening in early October at the St. Clairsville location.

Ferguson’s at the mall is open now from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
