Car crashes into Tiltonsville home

TILTONSVILLE — A car slammed into a home in Tiltonsville on Saturday evening, injuring the driver and passenger.

“Not a call we see every day, nor was it one that we have seen in our community before. Fortunately, the family was not home at the time of this incident,” the Tiltonsville Volunteer Fire Department’s Facebook page states.

According to published reports, the 29-year-old driver and passenger received minor injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

According to the Tiltonsville VFD, firefighters from Yorkville, Rayland and Brilliant all responded, along with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and police from Yorkville, Wells Township and OSP. The Jefferson County Search and Rescue Team also responded.

“These resources played a vital role in ensuring that the building stayed intact during the removal of two patients from the vehicle and then the vehicle from the building,” according to the Tiltonsville VFD social media.

Pictures of the scene posted on social media by the fire department show the extent of the damage to the home on Third Street. The vehicle crashing into the brick house created a massive hole in the side of the building. The vehicle drove about halfway into the structure before coming to a stop.
