Christmas gift to A Special Wish Foundation

Karen Craig, right, director of business development at Interim Health Care in St. Clairsville, presents a check for $2,000 to A Special Wish Foundation Executive Director Alicia Freeman. Craig said the business has operated a charitable giving program for the past 10 years. She said this year the group gave to A Special Wish in honor of the late John Mattox, a historian and community leader who died earlier this year and founded the local chapter of A Special Wish. “Every dollar really means so much to our organization, whether it’s $1 or $1,000, and to receive this gift from Interim Health Care systems is a true gift,” Freeman said, adding that sponsors and donors are central to carrying out the foundation’s mission. The average cost of a wish is about $4,000. “We are starting to get several wishes in and we are already working on three for next year.”
