BARNESVILLE — The Belmont Soil and Water Conservation District is hosting a Paint the Rain raffle that will benefit schools’ art programs.

Samantha Hearn, Agriculture & Education Specialist with Belmont SWCD, said students from St. Clairsville, Bridgeport, Barnesville and Bellaire painted rain barrels featuring nature scenes.

“The barrels were on display at the Belmont County Fair and are now on display in our office. People are able to purchase raffle tickets from us for $1 apiece or six for $5. The raffle ends Sept. 30,” she said.

“A portion of the proceeds goes back to each school’s art program. A ticket will be drawn from each barrel and the winner gets to take home the painted barrel.”
